PSU Visits to PTPM, USM
22 November 2018 – Delegates from Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand visited the Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia (PTPM), Universiti Sains Malaysia as a step to renew the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the two institutions. The delegates from PSU were consists of three lecturers (i.e. Assistant Professor Dr. Wasant Atisabda; Director of Research Center for Educational Innovation and Teaching & Learning Excellence, Assisstant Professor Dr. Ophat Kaosaiyaporn; Assistant President for Media and Educational Technology Development, & Associate Professor Dr. Wichai Napapongs; Lecturer, Education Leadership and Innovation) and four graduate students.
The visit began with the opening speech by Associate Professor Dr. Mona Masood (Deputy Director of Academic, Research & Innovation) representing PTPM’s Director and followed by sharing sessions from Dr. Nur Azlina and PTPM’s students about their current research activities. Assisstant Professor Dr. Ophat as the leader of this visit and PSU’s student also had a sharing session. An exchange of souvenirs between the two institutions closed the opening ceremony that morning.
Later, the delegates toured PTPM’s Audio and TV Studio. They also went to the Research and Innovation Laboratory where they tried out the Virtual Reality 3D Glasses Headset and Eye Tracking system.
|The primary purpose of this visit was to renew and discuss future MoA activities throughout the New Year; 2019. Therefore, a meeting to discuss future plans was conducted after lunch break. As one of the outcome of this meeting, PSU and PTPM, USM will jointly organize a Graduate Students Symposium in February 2019 at PSU’s Hat Yai Campus.
